Today is our first post on Fauna!

The Spider, weavers of fate, collector of stories and messengers of the divine. Arachnids are subject to fear by most with the links to death and darkness and there outward appears have left many hesitate and afraid to work with these creatures. However that wasn't also the case, many cultures have worshipped the Arachnids, told cautionary tales and even put them in God hood status.

One of these is within the greek tales, they weave a story of Arachne, a girl blessed with the talent to weave and spin fabric like no other, but when her talent became tangled with ego and boast her words lead to a challenge with Athena herself. Within this story two endings are spun with some saying that Arachne had won the competition of weaving fabric to depicted the ways that the gods, particularly Zeus, had misled and abused mortals, tricking, and seducing many women and men alike, while Athena told the tales of the glory of her kin. Upon her victory Athena Cursed the girl to take the shape of a Spider so that she would spend the rest of her days spinning fabric, while the other ending states upon her defeat as a punishment for blasphemy Athena Cursed her to the same demise. To this day Arachne is said to weave the strings of fates for the Moirai for ever leaving the Stories of life. And from this transfiguration Spiders where born, the keepers and weavers of the strings.

Spiders are mighty totems they teach the ways of the world and with every thread they weave and entwine so much wisdom can be found. During meditation call out to the mighty arachnid you might be shocked on what you discover from there teachings and lessons.

Spiders are also great within spell work, its said if you hold a Spider in your hand and wisper you desire, upon letting them go they will take and realise your intentions in to the world. The webs they create are also a potent and strong ingredient to use in bindings and protection spell work.
