Red Poppy
Red Poppy, symbol of Consolation, Sleep, Remembrance, Rebirth, and Death. The Red Poppy has been held sacred and of great importance across many lands and times. Since ancient times, poppies have been placed on tombstones and graves to represent eternal sleep. Now, in modern-day times, they act a reminder of the loss of life in war and the remembrance of those who passed.
Poppies are one of the most sacred flowers to the Goddess Demeter, symbolising fertility, health, and strength to overcome. The poppy is also linked to Morpheus, the god of sleep and dreams it is said he wears a crown of poppy flowers.
