Medusa - Mini Goddess Statue

Throughout time, the legend of Medusa has been retold time and time again. She has been a legendary creature born from the monsters Ceto and Phorcys, one of three Gorgon sisters she was a mortal adorned with snakes she was said to have the gift of stone gaze. While later legends retold the Rape of Medusa, where Medusa was a beautiful priestess of the Goddess Athena. It was said that poseidon forced himself upon the young priestess and in her crys of pain and anguish, the goddess Athena cursed her in shame and anger for defiling the goddess temple turning her in to the legendary creature we all know. While other stories tell the curse as being a blessing, it's said that Athena blesses Medusa, so no man would ever hurt her again.
Medusa has been raised up to divinity in life and death, with her being a symbol of protection, a guardian of the vulnerable and victimised. Her stone gaze and venom have unleashed her wrath upon man and woman alike. She's a breaker of chains and helps us face our scars, especially after times of abuse.
