Blackberry Leaf, Fruit & Thorn

Blackberry is the symbol of death, pain, remorse, grief, trials, and tribulations. It's long been used in Witchcraft as a way to punish those who are wrong, us attracting those with sweet fruit only to feel the sharp stabbing of throns. For this reason, it also makes for a powerful protection charm, making sure all those who wish harm or to cross our boundaries are greeted with regret.
 
In biblical lore, it said when Archangel Michael cast Lucifer down from heaven, he landed in a bed of blackberry. As the fallen angels skin bleed, his blood coated the leaves and stem. From this blood grew thorns, as he stood he urinated over the bush cursing with blood and urine that no good would come from the blackberry and from this moment a bush of sweet fruit turned bitter and soft leaf turned to thorn and spike.
 
Blackberry is also linked to the Black Moon, The Dark Goddess, and Witches.

Each one of our Herbs & Roots is individually hand-picked, hand dried & hand blessed. It is important to us that all of our herbs are locally grown in one of our many Gardens or is hand foraged from the wilds of Cornwall. Using what the earth provides locally and being a self-sustaining craft with no mass farming or importing. Using what the earth and the season provide, keeping our herb craft as traditional as possible.
