Artemis, the revered Olympic Greek goddess of the hunt, wilderness, protector of children and animals, and childbirth. She is immortalized in this exquisite statue. With her bow poised and accompanied by graceful deer, she epitomizes independence and strength. Beyond her hunting prowess, Artemis symbolizes fertility and protection, making her an enduring symbol for women. 
She is linked to the moon, and later depictions of the hellenic goddess showed her inheriting the duties of guiding the moon across the skies, taking over from the goddess Selene.
